San Diego County Office of Education Selects AcuPrint Technology's Solution for Check Printing

SecureCheck nX2 Chosen to Produce MICR Laser Checks Quickly and Economically, While Providing Extensive Security for SDCOE
Press Release

CARLSBAD, Calif., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ --

AcuPrint Technology, an industry leader in secure payment transaction solutions, today announced the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) has selected the MICR laser check printing application, SecureCheck nX2, as the County's accounts payable check processing solution. AcuPrint Technology's SecureCheck nX2 was chosen by the SDCOE after an extensive evaluation process.

The SDCOE will initially utilize SecureCheck nX2 to produce the County's 30,000 monthly accounts payable checks for over 25 of the County's school districts. The second phase, the processing of the County's 25,000 monthly payroll checks using the SecureCheck nX2 system, will follow. The SDCOE selected SecureCheck nX2 after a lengthy due diligence process involving several check printing vendors. A number of SDCOE managers made multiple visits to AcuPrint's Carlsbad facility to observe the SecureCheck nX2 product in a simulated SDCOE operational environment.

The SecureCheck nX2 MICR laser check printing solution utilizes blank check stock (which is void of all information except the stock's imbedded security) and is not valid until printed. SecureCheck nX2 merges accounting data to a stored check outline at the printer to produce a complete check. SecureCheck nX2 does not require implementation of any additional software and works within any operating environment and with any accounting application, including legacy and custom.

"We chose the SecureCheck nX2 solution from AcuPrint Technology for several reasons," stated SDCOE operations manager, Hans Kohls. "Its dual hardware and software components and multiple levels of security throughout the program are particularly important to the SDCOE. The hardware and software components cannot function independently. Security permissions are customized to the user. Dual audit logs exist; one on the printer of all completed checks and one on the Host system to monitor all system activity. Because of the volume of checks being printed, we needed to utilize an application that seamlessly functioned with a high-speed laser printer. SecureCheck nX2, in conjunction with the HP LaserJet 9000, produces 50 checks a minute."

"We are pleased to have the SecureCheck nX2 solution chosen by the San Diego County Office of Education," stated AcuPrint Technology president, Walter Papciak. "SecureCheck nX2 incorporates many progressive security features and technology resulting in a simple and economical MICR laser check printing solution. Businesses want to be assured they are producing quality checks in a secure environment to remain safe and competitive in today's marketplace. Having the SDCOE choose our solution reaffirms our reputation for producing quality payment solutions."
