CARLSBAD, California - November 3, 2004 - AP Technology, a leading provider of business-banking connectivity solutions, announces today the release of SecurePay 6.0 Professional, the first and only client-side software for positive pay file conversion and transmission that offers secure and fully-automated upload of positive pay files in the required format via the bank's website.
SecurePay 6.0 offers the enhanced capability of integrated web transmission that can automate the task of sending positive pay files to the bank's website. Once SecurePay 6.0 converts accounting application data to a positive pay file, a web transmission can take place either immediately or at a scheduled time based on the user's requirements.
Transmitting positive pay files via the bank's website ensures data protection through the robust security and encryption methods already implemented by the bank. It also permits the bank to reduce their reliance on modems and create a single point of delivery for all positive pay files.
Additionally, SecurePay 6.0 improves overall security by providing advanced notification capabilities that give designated recipients the opportunity to review files prior to transmission and stay informed when file transfers and events occur. As more banks adopt payee positive pay to stem the rising tide of check fraud resulting from alterations to payee information, SecurePay 6.0 is the solution. SecurePay provides the capability to generate positive pay files with payee name data included. SecurePay 6.0 can be installed and ready to transmit files usually in the same day, and daily use of the software requires just a couple of minutes.
AP Technology is now offering banks and their clients the full-featured SecurePay 6.0 version with special reduced promotional pricing. This will make positive pay adoption with SecurePay 6.0 readily affordable for all bank clients from the smallest business to the largest enterprise.
"Our new technology comes at a time when the enactment of Check 21 and the corporate governance, controls and risk management of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act are increasing industry emphasis on fraud protection methods such as positive pay. For banking clients, SecurePay 6.0 means an inexpensive solution that not only automatically converts check files into the bank-required positive pay format, but now also offers expanded web transmission capability that saves even more time and money," states Richard Love, Chief Executive Officer of AP Technology. "Security also improves with less employee handling of confidential positive pay files and by implementing an enhanced email notification and review process. The timing of releasing our new SecurePay 6.0 could not be better."
