CARLSBAD, California - November 4, 2004 - AP Technology, a leading provider of business-banking connectivity solutions, today announced the release of Transporter, a unique, patent-pending software program that lets corporate clients automate the process of securely exchanging files and data including DDA, account reconciliation, ACH, wires, SWIFT, EDI, statements, STOPs, positive pay, lockbox, or controlled disbursements via their bank's website.
Transporter dramatically improves the secure exchange of files and data between banks and businesses. After years of development, this patent-pending technology will enable banks to focus all of their file transfer development resources on their website. Transporter will also allow banks to migrate their clients from outdated or support-intensive file transfer mechanisms such as modems.
The Transporter program resides on a client's computer and can act as a gateway to their bank's website, requiring absolutely no technology changes or installations at the bank. It is a compact, economical solution that several banks are now offering corporate clients to make the process of accessing and interfacing to the bank's website as simple and efficient as possible.
File transfers can be performed in three ways: (1) "event driven" - where Transporter constantly checks a directory or website for the existence of file data which can come at any time, such as an inbound wire, (2) by "scheduled operations," or (3) "drag and drop." Once a client installs Transporter, they no longer need to perform the tedious task of logging onto a bank's website every time they need to exchange files with their bank. Rather, a file transfer can be as simple as dragging and dropping the file onto a configured bank profile portal. If a client prefers, regular file transfers can be entirely automated to occur at a designated time or when a specific file appears in a defined directory.
Data exchange conducted by Transporter uses the same encryption/security measures as the bank's website and maximizes the benefits of the bank's investment in their website security. By making a bank's website more accessible to its corporate clients, Transporter helps accelerate and increase the adoption of a bank's online offerings - increasing revenues and improving client satisfaction and retention.
"With many banks looking for a way to abandon the maintenance costs associated with TTY/modem file transfers for their commercial clients, Transporter provides a smooth migration to using a bank's web-based cash management services," states AP Technology CEO, Richard Love.
"Transporter offers a bank's corporate clients a simple solution to transition from TTY to web-based cash management services and gives any client the ability to completely automate the task of exchanging files through their bank's website," continued Love. "Users are assured of a quick and seamless installation of Transporter software. Transporter is compatible with all file and data types, and backed by our product-trained technical support team to guarantee easy installation and high client satisfaction."
Transporter is also offered as a tool to software developers who are looking to provide seamless automated upload and download of files from websites. The Transporter toolkit comes with sample source code and 50 end user licenses.
