CARLSBAD, California - June 2, 2005 - California-based AP Technology, a leading provider of financial data connectivity and printing solutions, and Denmark-based SafeCom, a leading provider of highly secure solutions for on-demand "Pull Printing," print tracking, and print job cost accounting, have agreed to become strategic partners for the distribution of SafeCom solutions in the Americas. AP Technology will provide marketing, sales, channel management, product distribution, integration services, and technical support for all SafeCom solutions.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to partner with SafeCom and bring their outstanding product line to the Americas. We feel that the need for print security, tracking and control is of growing interest in both the enterprise and educational marketplaces. The ability to change cost centers to profit centers resonates in the current business and economic climate," states Richard Love, CEO of AP Technology.
Without changing the user's normal printing procedures, SafeCom solutions make it possible for organizations to seamlessly manage and control the cost of copies and printing with increased tracking and security over their entire network. The solutions are based on the unique and patented SafeCom pull printing concept, where documents are printed to a database and then released for printing after the user identifies themselves at any SafeCom-enabled printer. "Pull Print" allows for print tracking and accounting, as well as increased print security and reduced print waste.
"With the success that we have had in the educational, banking and security markets in Europe, we are pleased with the growing world-wide demand for these solutions ... and pleased to have teamed with AP Technology with their reputation for building, integrating and supporting high-quality print products," states Hugo Marqvorsen, VP, Sales & Marketing for SafeCom a/s.
Both AP Technology and SafeCom are members of the elite Hewlett Packard (HPQ) SBP (Solutions Business Partner) group. By incorporating their technologies with leading HP products such as the new line of HP multi-function print and copy products, the new partnership provides a complete solution including the integration of cash card systems and money scanners. Pay-for-print solutions to the education, government and enterprise markets are but one of a variety of applications that are gaining momentum throughout the world.
"Hewlett Packard is very pleased that AP Technology and SafeCom have partnered together to introduce the SafeCom Pull Printing solution to North America. This partnership will enable our many HP customers deploying HP MFPs (Multi-Function-Peripherals) and HP printers to implement a flexible yet robust cost management system using proven technology and integration expertise. The added capability of AP Technology and SafeCom to implement a wide array of coin and cash card management systems will allow this solution to work in many educational, library, and corporate environments," states Michael K. Harris, Hewlett Packard's Solutions Business Manager for the Americas.
