A: Yes. With SecureCheck-PRO your accounting application data and check form are merged and printed onto blank stock. Blank check stock is devoid of any critical check account information and also offers the advantage of numerous built-in security features.

Q: How are checks printed using the SecureCheck-PRO check printing system?

A: If you are using a Windows application, printing checks is as easy as selecting the SC Driver from your print selection. Direct printing users have the option of using Check Mode, ACL commands, or the Windows Direct method to print checks. (Note: ACL commands allows UNIX and AS/400 applications to send their print stream directly to the SecureCheck-PRO printer without any user intervention.)

The check printing process also differs based on whether you configure SecureCheck-PRO as a hardware-software solution or a software-only solution.

Hardware-Software Configuration
The hardware-software configuration allows you to print checks to your HP LaserJet compatible printer. During the printing process, your accounting application data is first audited at the PC-level and then merged with the correct check form at the printer-level onto blank check stock. Your check forms, which include proprietary signatures, graphics, and account numbers, are stored encrypted and secure on proprietary SecureCheck hardware (DIMM or CF) at the printer.

Once you enable an HP LaserJet printer with SecureCheck-PRO hardware, you can be secure in the fact that your checks cannot be printed at any other location. Also, the hardware-software configuration provides a printer-based audit trail in addition to the PC based audit trail.

Software-Only Configuration
The software-only configuration allows you to print checks to any PCL 5e-compatible printer. During the printing process, your accounting application's print stream is first audited and then merged with your check overlay at the PC-level. This encrypted data stream is then routed to your printer where checks are printed onto blank stock.

Q: Does the SecureCheck-PRO check printing system support multiple checking accounts?

A: The system is designed to hold in excess of 100 checking accounts. The administrator controls all checking account information, including checking account number and MICR lines, bank names and addresses, and company names and addresses.

Security Permissions
The are six levels of user permission available (administrator, audit, overlay setup, manual check, print check, overlay printing). Double login requirements can also be assigned.

Audit Capabilities
SecureCheck-PRO offers 10 auditable fields (payee, amount, check date, check number, account, zip, +4 additional audit fields of your choice), providing you with powerful audit capacity and security available. An audit takes place at both the printer and PC level as your checks are printed.

Check Imaging option
The SecureImage option allows you to capture pdf images of all printed checks and store these within the audit record.

Event Log
The event log keeps a record of all important check printing activity, such as when checks print, login attempts (successful/failed), and modifications to the file system.

Email Notifications option
Email notifications can be sent to specified recipients regarding different check printing activities that have occurred.

Signature Logic
Signature Logic places zero, one, two, or more signatures on a check depending on the check's amount. Manual signature can be mandated for checks over a specified amount.

Q: What types of notifications are available with the email notifications option?

A: Email notifications can be sent to specified recipients regarding different check printing activities.

They can be set by overlay, and can include any of the following:

  1. Notice that check printing has occurred, from what account, and to what printer.
  2. Notice that check printing has occurred, along with one of two audits: Detailed or Summary.
  3. Notice to select administrators of excessive failed login attempts.
  4. Notice for checks over specified dollar amounts.
  5. Notice to select administrators regarding additions/changes to overlays.

Q: What does the Secure-Image optional module add to SecureCheck?

A: Secure-Image is a print imaging option that creates and stores check images in a PDF format as checks are being printed. The image location is attached to the audit record for simple search and retrieval.

A: Yes. Save significant time on check signing with SecureCheck-PRO 's signature logic feature. Check amount parameters are set to require zero, one, two, or more signatures, and all checks will print accordingly (data must be auditable). All signatures are stored encrypted until the time they are printed on your checks.
